    About This Product

    Coconut oil is the triglyceride-rich oil of Cocos nucifera kernels. Its composition contains a high proportion of saturated fatty-acid residues, particularly lauric and myristic residues, giving it different melting behaviour from liquid oils dominated by unsaturated C18 chains. It can appear as a clear liquid or an opaque crystalline fat depending on temperature and conditioning. This lipid is used in skincare and haircare oil phases and as a saponifiable raw material for soap. Its crystallisation behaviour is relevant when a formula must remain pourable or maintain a consistent texture across storage conditions. Whole coconut oil should not be assumed to have the same composition or physical behaviour as a separately fractionated caprylic/capric triglyceride material. Choose the refining route and odour profile alongside the required identity and analytical limits. Evaluate the material under the product’s expected temperature range, including cooling and reheating, and confirm the supplied grade’s composition, acidity and oxidation records.
