Rice Bran Wax

About This Product
Rice bran wax is the high-melting wax fraction separated during the dewaxing or winterisation of rice bran oil. Its principal wax constituents are high-molecular-weight esters. Separation of this fraction concentrates a hard structurant with properties that differ from the liquid rice bran oil from which it is recovered. When properly dispersed through a heated oil phase and allowed to crystallise, rice bran wax can increase consistency and help retain liquid oils. Formulators evaluate it in sticks, balms and other oil-rich systems where firmness and surface quality need to be balanced. The finished crystal network also depends on cooling rate and companion ingredients. Bio Green Chem reviews the required colour, physical form, melting behaviour and analytical profile for the proposed grade. Confirm that the manufacturing process fully incorporates the wax, then assess graininess, oil separation and long-term texture. Any substitution for another hard wax should be checked in the complete formulation.
