Jasmine floral wax is the solid wax-rich fraction separated during manufacture of a jasmine absolute from the floral concrete. It contains naturally occurring floral wax constituents together with retained aromatic components. It is therefore a complex aromatic raw material whose composition varies with species, extraction and subsequent handling. The wax fraction can contribute body to an oil-based system while the retained volatile fraction adds a jasmine note. These two functions should be assessed together: increasing wax content also changes fragrance intensity and can alter the colour and texture of the formulation.
