Sunflower Wax

About This Product
Sunflower wax is the wax fraction removed when sunflower oil is dewaxed. It contains long-chain saturated wax esters and is a different material from hydrogenated sunflower oil. The refined wax is a hard solid whose ability to crystallise within liquid oils is important to its structuring performance. In anhydrous sticks and balms, sunflower wax can increase hardness, retain oils and support resistance to softening. It also affects surface gloss, drag and the sensory character of the oil phase. Compatibility with polar and less-polar emollients should be evaluated in the intended system; emulsion stability cannot be inferred from wax addition alone. Bio Green Chem works from the required identity, refining route, colour and thermal profile. Agree whether the requested ingredient is the unmodified seed wax or a separately declared derivative. Evaluate full incorporation, cooling history, brittleness and oil release using the nominated grade before setting the final processing window.
