About This Product
Indium tin oxide (ITO) is indium oxide doped with tin oxide, a mixed oxide that combines electrical conductivity with transparency to visible light. This industrial-grade nanopowder (CAS 50926-11-9) is blue, with spherical particles of 50 nm median size (D50) and a purity of 99.99%. It is offered in In2O3:SnO2 ratios of 9:1 and 95:5; adjusting the ratio changes the electrical and optical behaviour of the finished layer. Formed into targets by high-temperature, high-pressure moulding, the powder is used to deposit transparent electrodes for liquid crystal displays by magnetron sputtering. It is also dispersed into infrared-absorbing films, thermal barrier coatings, antistatic coatings and paints, and conductive layers. State the In2O3:SnO2 ratio needed when enquiring, and keep the powder cool, dry and airtight, protected from crushing. Lung disease has been reported among workers who inhaled indium tin oxide dust, so set up dust control, guided by the hazard section of the SDS, before any handling. Confirm that this nanoform falls within an EU or UK REACH registration before import.
