    Iron(III) Oxide

    About This Product

Iron(III) oxide, also called ferric oxide, is offered here as a powder (CAS 1309-37-1) of 99.90% purity; stored cool and dry, it keeps for 2 years. The data do not state its colour, crystal phase or particle size, which are therefore confirmed on enquiry. As a colourant it is used in plastics, rubber and ceramics, and as a pigment in coatings and inks where weather and heat stability are wanted. It is also a raw material for lithium iron phosphate battery materials, and its surface activity is put to use in catalysts and sensors. Agree colour, phase and particle size before ordering; a nanoscale grade would need particle size distribution and surface area data, and its nanoform would have to fall within a REACH or UK REACH registration. The material is offered for industrial use only. Packing is a 20 kg carton or a 25 kg bag.
