Barium Zinc Heat Stabiliser

About This Product
Barium zinc stabilisers replaced barium cadmium systems as cadmium was restricted, keeping the barium component for long-term stability while relying on zinc rather than cadmium for early colour. They are the standard mixed-metal choice for flexible PVC where calcium zinc does not give sufficient clarity or stability. As with any zinc-containing system the formulation has to manage zinc chloride generation, and barium soaps together with the organic co-stabilisers in the pack perform that role. Barium zinc generally outperforms calcium zinc on clarity and long-term hold in plasticised compounds, which is why it persists in film, leather cloth and footwear applications. Two forms are offered. BZ-316A is a liquid supplied in 200 kg drums and is directed at PVC soft film and leather. BZ-316B is a powder supplied in 20-25 kg bags and is directed at PVC foamed shoe materials and leathers, where a solid addition suits the dry-blend process.
