    Di(2-propylheptyl) Phthalate (DPHP)

Di(2-propylheptyl) Phthalate (DPHP) – Specialty chemicals product from Bio Green Chem

    About This Product

Di(2-propylheptyl) phthalate, CAS 53306-54-0, is a transparent liquid phthalate ester built on a branched C10 alcohol. The chain length is what separates it from the phthalates that attract restriction. The reproductive-toxicity classification that removed DEHP, DBP and BBP from general use applies to low molecular weight phthalates with C4 to C6 alkyl chains. DPHP, with C10 chains, is not classified in that group, and is one of the high molecular weight phthalates the industry moved to as those restrictions took effect, alongside DINP and DIDP. Technically the longer chain lowers volatility and migration and improves electrical resistivity and heat ageing, at the cost of slower gelation and poorer low-temperature flexibility than DEHP offered. That directs it at wire and cable insulation, and the supplier additionally lists gloves, shoe materials, leather clothing, construction materials and PVC products generally. Packed 70 kg flexitank tote (22,000 kg/20' container), 190 kg drum (15,200 kg/container) or 920 kg IBC tote (18,400 kg/container).
