    Caesium Tungsten Oxide (CTO)

    About This Product

Caesium tungsten oxide, also known as caesium tungsten bronze, is a non-stoichiometric compound of general formula CsxWO3 (CAS 189619-69-0). A framework of tungsten–oxygen octahedra gives it low electrical resistivity and the ability to shield near-infrared radiation. It is chiefly applied as a functional additive in transparent heat-insulating coatings and films for architectural and automotive glazing, where visible light passes and near-infrared heat is screened. Further uses are in transparent conductive coatings and as an additive that absorbs electromagnetic waves. Specification values have not yet been issued for this material. The caesium-to-tungsten ratio, particle size, physical form and optical data are confirmed on enquiry and should be agreed before any order. Store it sealed against air in cool, dry conditions without heavy pressure. If it is delivered as a nanoform, confirm that registration under UK REACH or EU REACH extends to it.
