    Copper(II) Oxide (CuO)

    About This Product

Copper(II) oxide, or cupric oxide (CuO, CAS 1317-38-0, EC 215-269-1), is the black oxide of divalent copper, molecular weight 79.545. This electronic-grade powder is specified at CuO ≥99.0%, with Fe ≤15 ppm, Ni ≤10 ppm, Zn ≤30 ppm, Pb ≤5 ppm, chloride ≤15 ppm and Na ≤50 ppm, and a solution rate of ≤30 s. It is used chiefly as the copper source in continuous automatic plating lines for high-quality printed circuit boards, where low impurity levels and fast dissolution support an even deposit. It is also used in other electronic devices and in semiconductor manufacture where the grade has been qualified. Before supply, confirm the assay basis and the test method behind the solution rate, which is not stated, and qualify the oxide in the plating line; the electronic grade designation does not replace the buyer's own check of suitability for the process. Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse away from heat, reducing agents, alkali metals and food chemicals. Packing is 25 kg barrels; ask for current safety data before use.
