About This Product
Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer is the INCI name for acrylic copolymers cross-linked and modified with a C10-30 alkyl acrylate. The long alkyl groups let the polymer hold oil droplets at the interface as well as thicken the water phase, so some types act as primary emulsifiers and others mainly as rheology modifiers. Both short and long rheology types are offered. No specification values have been published for this polymer, so viscosity, pH, physical form and packing are confirmed on enquiry. Typical outlets are creams, lotions and low-viscosity sprayable emulsions, clear skin-care and hair-care gels, shampoos and shower gels, and cleansing products with a high electrolyte content. Viscosity develops only after neutralisation to a moderate or weakly alkaline pH. It is a different substance from carbomer homopolymer, and figures published for carbomer grades do not describe it. Before ordering, request a grade specification covering viscosity, pH, residual monomers and solvent residues, along with the CAS number for the grade offered and its safety data sheet, then trial it in your own formula.
