    Polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN)

    About This Product

Polydeoxyribonucleotide, usually shortened to PDRN, consists of DNA fragments recovered from salmon milt and is registered under CAS 100403-24-5. It is a white to slightly yellow powder or fibrous solid, only slightly soluble in water, with an assay of 90.0–110.0% on the dried basis and an average molecular weight no higher than 1000 kD. Identity is confirmed when the ratio of UV absorbance at 260 and 280 nm falls between 1.6 and 2.0, and residual protein stays below 2.0% by the Folin-phenol method. The grade is meant for cosmetics applied to the skin, such as serums, creams, lotions and masks. For such leave-on use its microbial limits allow an aerobic count of up to 100 CFU/g and yeast and mould below 100 CFU/g, with no E. coli or S. aureus; pH, loss on drying and heavy-metal limits are set out in the specification table. Because the material is of fish origin, take that into account for labelling and for any vegan or vegetarian claim on a finished product. Only the cosmetic grade for external use is offered; it is not supplied for medicines, medical devices or food, which are regulated separately and need their own grades. Agree the INCI name for your labels, obtain the lot certificate of analysis and confirm the grade suits your formulation before ordering.
