    Lanolin Alcohol

Lanolin Alcohol – Cosmetic & Personal Care product from Bio Green Chem

    About This Product

Lanolin Alcohol is the purified alcohol fraction obtained from lanolin. It contains sterols, triterpene alcohols and higher aliphatic alcohols rather than the predominantly ester-bound material found in whole lanolin. These free hydroxyl-bearing components give the fraction a different polarity and interfacial behaviour from anhydrous lanolin. Its principal formulation roles include water-in-oil emulsification, emulsion stabilisation and emolliency. In a suitable oil phase, the alcohol mixture helps accommodate water and supports the structure of the emulsion. The result still depends on the accompanying oils, waxes, emulsifiers and processing conditions, so trial the complete system rather than relying on ingredient identity alone. Specify the required sterol profile, colour, odour and melting behaviour. Confirm any antioxidant or other additive in the supplied grade, and address wool-derived origin requirements during selection. For personal-care use, request current identity and purity documentation, then verify emulsion stability and product compatibility under the intended storage conditions.
