Glyceryl Stearate and PEG-100 Stearate form a non-ionic emulsifying system combining stearate ester components with different affinities for oil and water. The glyceryl ester contributes a lipophilic component, while the polyethylene-glycol portion of PEG-100 Stearate supplies hydrophilic character. Together they support an interface between dispersed oil droplets and a continuous water phase. This chemistry is used in oil-in-water creams and lotions, particularly systems containing non-polar oils and waxes. The blend provides emulsification rather than acting only as a hard wax, and its contribution to viscosity depends on the complete oil phase, other structurants and processing conditions. It should not be substituted automatically for an emulsifying wax with a different composition. Confirm the declared blend identity, supplied form and technical specification. Review compatibility with the intended oil phase, electrolyte content and formulation pH, then establish heating, mixing and cooling conditions through trials. Finished-emulsion stability remains a property of the complete formula.
