Silicone Grease

About This Product

This grease is built on a silicone oil base with an inorganic thickener, giving a white NLGI 2 product with a typical worked penetration of 285 (0.1 mm) and no dropping point. Typical results after 24 h at 100 °C are 0.2% volatility and 0.6% oil separation; it passes the copper corrosion and oxidation stability tests, and the operating range in the data table is -40 to 220 °C. It is applied to seal out water and to lubricate in bathroom and sanitary equipment, on sealing rings and in electronic and electrical assemblies. It does not cure or dry out, does not corrode copper, aluminium or steel in contact with it, and is compatible with rubber parts. The values are typical data rather than limits, and the base oil viscosity of 900 at 40 °C is printed without a unit, so confirm the base oil grade, the thickener type and the service temperature range, which the product description quotes more widely than the data table. Apply it to clean, dry parts and do not mix it with other greases. The data sheet gives no CAS number; take it from the SDS.
