Methyltin Oleate

About This Product
DX-670 is methyltin oleic acid: a heat stabiliser formed by combining vegetable-oil acids with methyltin oxide, supplied as a light yellow clear oil liquid. The choice of an oleate ligand instead of a mercaptoester is the defining feature. Because there is no sulphur in the molecule there is no mercaptan odour and no sulphide staining, and the supplier notes the product is free of the educt associated with mercaptide grades. The long unsaturated C18 chain also brings genuine lubricating character, so part of the external lubricant demand of the formulation is met by the stabiliser itself. It is described as well soluble in water, and as possessing fine outdoor weather endurance. Those properties direct it at industrial-grade transparent sheet, colour board and corrugated plate, and the supplier singles it out for processing top-grade clear PVC products. Supplied in iron or plastic drum, IBC tote or customised packaging.
