    About This Product

    Cetearyl Alcohol and Polysorbate 60 combine two different chemical roles in one emulsifying wax. Cetearyl alcohol is a mixture of long-chain fatty alcohols that contributes body and consistency. Polysorbate 60 is an ethoxylated sorbitan stearate surfactant whose hydrophilic portion supports oil-in-water emulsification. The blend is used to disperse an oil phase into water while developing the structure of the resulting emulsion. Its behaviour depends on the fatty-alcohol balance, emulsifier composition and other ingredients. Changes to the oil phase or processing can alter viscosity and stability, so a named emulsifying wax should be evaluated as its own system rather than treated as interchangeable with every other wax emulsifier.
