About This Product
Dimethyltin oxide, CAS 2273-45-2, is a white powder and one of the primary building blocks of methyltin chemistry. Most of the methyltin mercaptides, maleates, oleates and laurates in this range are manufactured by reacting DMTO with the corresponding ligand. Its own catalytic activity matters as well. As a tin(IV) oxide it catalyses esterification and transesterification, which places it in the production of polyester resins for powder coatings, and the supplier also lists it as a catalyst in the manufacture of certain antioxidant products. Buying the oxide rather than the finished stabiliser suits compounders who formulate their own tin systems and want control over the ligand. Supplied in drum or customised packaging.
