Biodegradable Hot Melt Adhesive Compound is a PBAT/PLA blend supplied as a pellet compound for hot melt adhesive production. The two polymers split the job between them: PBAT is soft, tacky and extensible and carries the bond itself, while PLA raises the softening point and the cohesive strength so that the bond holds rather than creeps under load. A compostable pack assembled with a conventional hot melt is not fully compostable: the adhesive is a contaminant in the finished article. As compostable packaging moves from claim to certification, the adhesive becomes the limiting component: a small fraction of the pack by weight, laid down as a continuous bead that does not break up the way the substrate around it does. A hot melt carries no solvent and no cure, being applied molten, wetting the substrate while it is fluid and setting by cooling alone, so the whole bond is made in the seconds between nozzle and compression. This compound is supplied for producing hot melt adhesive in a biodegradable system. Open time, set speed and bond strength are set against the substrate and the application equipment. Supplied as a raw material for processing on the buyer's own line. We do not produce finished articles. It is used in carton and case sealing, in compostable packaging assembly and in adhesive manufacture.
