About This Product
Antimony-doped tin oxide (ATO) is tin dioxide in which antimony replaces part of the tin, giving an oxide that conducts electricity and stays light in colour and transparent in thin films. This grade (CAS 128221-48-7) is a blue nanopowder with a particle size below 10 nm and a purity of 99.9%. Dispersed particles absorb or reflect near-infrared radiation while letting most visible light through. Its main use is in clear heat-insulating coatings for windows in buildings and cars. As a conductive filler it gives antistatic properties to paints, polymer films and other chemical products, and it is also added to transparent conductive coatings and to coatings that absorb electromagnetic waves. High-purity powder can be compacted into targets for sputtering transparent electrodes, and it serves as a wear- and heat-resistant functional additive. Packaging is stated only as double anti-static bags, so agree the net weight per bag when ordering. The safety data sheet should address the antimony content and the handling of fine dust; obtain it before the first delivery. Keep the bags sealed, cool and dry, out of contact with air and with no heavy weight on them. At under 10 nm the material is a nanoform, and a REACH registration (EU or UK) that includes the nanoform is needed for import.
