Meltblown Nonwoven Compound is a PBAT pellet compound formulated for meltblown lines. PBAT is an aliphatic-aromatic copolyester, soft and high in elongation, and this grade is set at a far higher melt flow and a narrower molecular weight distribution than a moulding or film grade of the same polymer would carry. Meltblown produces much finer fibres than spunbond, which is what gives the fabric its filtration efficiency and absorbency. It also demands a resin with a very high melt flow and a narrow molecular weight distribution, and both come from the same place: the fibre is drawn not mechanically but by converging jets of hot air at the die face, and only a low-viscosity melt attenuates that far before it cools. The narrow distribution matters because a long-chain tail resists attenuation unevenly and throws shot, beads of unattenuated polymer, into the web. This PBAT grade is formulated for meltblown lines. Filtration efficiency depends on fibre diameter, basis weight and any charging step, and is established on the finished fabric rather than specified from the resin. Supplied as a raw material for processing on the buyer's own line. We do not produce finished articles. It is used in filtration media, in absorbent layers and in hygiene and medical nonwovens.
