Foamed sheet is mostly air, so shipping it finished means paying to move air. Producing it at the point of use is what makes the economics work, and that requires a line rather than a machine. This is a complete line: feeding, extrusion, mould, cooling, cutting and stacking, under industrial computer control. The screw is 92mm at 46:1 L/D driven by a 200 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor, with 13 heating zones and output above 500 kg/hr. Footprint is roughly 80 x 12 x 7 m and machine weight 9-13 tonnes, so building services and floor loading need checking early. The foaming process is water-based.
