脂肪醇聚氧乙烯醚（即脂肪醇乙氧基化物），又称醇聚氧乙烯醚，由脂肪醇与环氧乙烷加成制得；AEO-3、AEO-9 或 AEO-15 中的数字为每个分子中环氧乙烷单元的平均数。根据该数值的不同，产品为无色至浅黄色液体、膏体或固体，1% 溶液 pH 为 5–7，呈中性，HLB 在 8 至 18 之间。 由于不带电荷，它在高盐和硬水条件下仍能保持效能，并耐酸碱。它可稳定洗涤剂和化妆品配方中的水包油乳液，其润湿和渗透作用用于纺织印染助剂。高 EO 等级可溶于水，整个系列均可溶于醇和苯。 数据表给出的是整个系列的范围，而非单一等级的限值，因此订购前请指明 EO 等级，并约定其浊点、羟值、水分和 pH。包装从 5 kg 瓶装到 200 kg 桶装不等，标示保质期为两年，需储存于阴凉通风处并远离强氧化剂。它可能刺激眼睛，因此操作前请阅读 SDS。
